Quite often, the master needs to wash off excess unwanted pigment from the hair structure. There are many reasons for this – too dark a colour, an undesirable shade, or simply the client’s desire to return to their natural colour. In such cases, a wash-off is performed, during which the hair scales are opened, and the previous pigment is removed, leaving the new pigment behind.
